Terms and conditions

Last updated 28 August 2026. These terms apply to TapQuote, operated by Jack Tyrrell.

1. Who you are contracting with

TapQuote is operated by Jack Tyrrell, a sole trader trading as "TapQuote" ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use TapQuote you agree to these terms and form a contract with Jack Tyrrell. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: support@tap-quote.com.

2. The service

TapQuote is a web application for creating, sending and managing quotes and invoices, price lists and job templates. It is a tool only. It is not accounting, tax, legal or insurance advice, and you remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of anything you send to your own customers.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 and, if you are signing up for a business, you must have authority to bind that business. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date, keep your login credentials confidential, and you are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Trial, fees and subscription terms

TapQuote is free for the first 14 days. Payment details are taken when the trial starts and the first charge is made at the end of the 14 days unless you cancel before then. After that the subscription is £14.99 per month per business, or £149.99 per year (or £24.99 per month, £249.99 per year, on TapQuote Plus), and renews automatically for further periods until cancelled. Prices are shown in GBP and applicable sales tax or VAT is added at checkout and calculated by Paddle. You can cancel at any time from Settings; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Payment, billing, currency, tax, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by Paddle and are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. See our Refund policy for the refund window and how to request one.

5. Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

6. Licence to use TapQuote

While your subscription is current and you comply with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use TapQuote for your own business, within the limits of the plan you have selected.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse TapQuote. In particular you must not:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any law or regulation that applies to you;
  • use it for fraud, deception, spam or unsolicited bulk messaging;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights, or upload content you have no right to use;
  • interfere with or compromise the security or integrity of the service - including introducing malware, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, attempting to access another business's data, circumventing access controls or usage limits, or scraping the service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the service, except to the extent the law does not allow this to be restricted; or
  • resell, sublicense or redistribute the service to third parties.

8. Your content

Your business details, price list, customers, quotes and invoices remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display that content solely so we can provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the right to use any content and customer data you enter, and for handling your customers' personal data lawfully - see our Privacy notice.

9. Our intellectual property

We (or our licensors) own all rights in the TapQuote service, including the software, design, documentation, database structures, the TapQuote name, logo and other branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you. You must not use our branding without our written permission.

10. Availability and support

We aim to keep TapQuote available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of faults or events outside our reasonable control. Support is provided by email on a best-effort basis during UK business hours; billing and payment enquiries are handled by Paddle.

11. Warranties

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability, satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer where those apply.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, including loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, and our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnity

If you are using TapQuote for business purposes, you will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your content, your unlawful or infringing use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, where: you materially breach these terms; your payment fails or your subscription lapses; there is a security, fraud or legal risk from your use; or you repeatedly or seriously breach the acceptable use rules. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem, except where an immediate suspension is needed to protect the service or comply with the law. You may terminate at any time by cancelling in Settings.

15. What happens when access ends

When your subscription ends you lose access to the app. You can export or download your quotes and invoices as PDFs before that point, and for 30 days after closure you can ask us to provide an export. After that your data is deleted or anonymised in line with our Privacy notice.

16. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service and these terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use TapQuote after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. Price changes apply from your next renewal and you may cancel before then.

17. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.

18. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of hosting or payment providers, network failures, strikes, fire, flood, war or acts of government.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence and rely on the mandatory consumer protections of that country.
